ALINA SAFI 
 

My name is Alina Safi, I’m a student at Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology. I have just completed my 3rd year in Film (Bachelor of Fine Arts - 4 year course ) Srishti offers a course on filmmaking as a whole so I was able to explore different fields within the film industry during my studies. 

My courses have included:  

Pre Thesis and Thesis - For my graduation projects I have worked on a total of 8 short films in the fields of Direction, Production management and Production design. 

● Direction - I’ve had two courses in direction where we focused on different elements such as working and reworking scripts, working with actors, camera angles etc. In these direction courses I was able to understand how to convey the message and the feeling that I was trying to portray to the audience. I have experience working with colour schemes, costumes, sets, sound and casting, all in relation to direction.  I have also worked on directing 2 short films for my  Thesis projects for college 

● Camera and lighting - where I understood how to work a camera and make use of angles, lighting, and how different angles or light affect the interpretation of a film. ● Sound design - Where I’ve learnt how to use Pro tools and Adobe Audition. I have also learnt how to record, both as the recordist and the voice actor and we’ve also had a course on Foley. 

● Editing- I have taken a few courses on editing and I am well versed with Adobe Premiere Pro. I have also learnt how to log footage and make paper edits for both fiction and documentary. 

● Scriptwriting and screenplay - I’ve learnt how to go about writing a script from the ideation to research to actually penning the script down. We’ve also worked on shot breakdowns, storyboarding and analyzing screenplays. 

● A few other courses we’ve worked on are Documentary Making, Journalism and Reporting, Writing for Stage, and Content Creation. In this course we were required to run our own YouTube Channel, produce all the content, and market it to appeal to a large audience. During this we produced content for a YouTube channel. For this, we produced several shows, including interviews, skits, web series and short content clips.
